Are you looking for a free prescription delivery service? Half of the UK population take at least one prescription drug per-day, so why don’t more people get their NHS prescriptions delivered free? Although NHS prescriptions have a set price and are often free, the process of picking up a prescription, taking it into your pharmacy and paying every month (or more often) can be inconvenient, time-consuming and expensive when you account for travel costs.
RXLive was founded to help patients with these issues by offering a completely free repeat prescription delivery service. People who take NHS (or private) repeat prescriptions can sign up to RXLive Pharmacy and have their prescriptions delivered to whatever address that is most convenient to them, at whatever date they request.
The first step to apply for the repeat prescription delivery with RXLive is to sign-up completely free. The signing up process shouldn’t take long, as we just need a few details such as your name, date of birth and address. You’ll also need to create a memorable password so you can access your account and order online. We will ask for your bank account details before you order your first prescription, so that we can easily take payment for your prescriptions in the future. If you would prefer to set-up your account on the phone, please feel free to call us on 0800 280 0808.
Once you fill in these details, you can relax! We will contact your GP surgery and get your repeat prescription sent over. Once we have your repeat prescription we will be able to ship your medication whenever you order it. You can set your account up to order manually, or automatically so you will never have to order again and we will automatically send your prescription to you each month. If your prescription changes, it’s simple to update your details on your RXLive account page and request a change to your order.
We need your address are we will deliver your medication completely free to your chosen delivery address. Before your prescription is delivered you will receive an email confirming that your prescription has been processed. Delivery can be as fast as 48 hours! Your prescription will then be posted through your post box. It really is as simple as that!
Our service is perfect for anyone who has repeat prescriptions, however there are a few guidelines about eligibility to consider before you sign up.
Firstly, this service relies on the use of electronic prescriptions (EPS), which means your GP surgery must be able to provide electronic prescriptions to RXLive, they will be able to let you know if they have this service if you ring.
Secondly, as this service relies on the use of EPS, we can only provide it to people who are resident (or at least, registered to a GP) in England. Residents of Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland, the Channel Islands, and the Isle of won’t be able to sign up to RXLive.
The RXLive repeat prescription delivery service is 100% free. There are absolutely no admin fees or delivery charges. But, you will still be required to pay the same standard fee for your prescription as usual.
If you are regularly picking up prescriptions (i.e. collecting two or more prescription items per month) you could save money by applying for a prescription prepayment certificate (PPC). For some patients in the UK, prescriptions are completely free. To find out if you may be eligible for free prescriptions, you can take a look at this guide. You can sign-up to the service here – completely free!
